About me

Who's writing:

My name is Daniel Ruckdeschel, I am teaching since 2000. For 2002 till 2006 in the German state of Bavaria at the prestigious Jean-Paul-Gymnasium. Since 2006 I am working for the German European School Singapore.

My vision for teaching and the use of technology is:

  • I want to maximise the personal learning experience of every student by providing a big variety of materials that empowers my students to learn according to their own speed and existing knowledge to achieve their best. (individualised learning).
  • I want to evoke an active way of learning in my students, so they take effective action towards maximising their knowledge and competencies (self-organised learning, learning by doing).
  • I want to make efficient and effective use of my lesson time, so I am able to give maximum support during my lessons. (student centered lessons, flipped lessons).
  • I want to avoid longer periods of lecturing and I want to make those inevitable lectures as interesting as possible (flipped lectures, lectures as homework).
  • I want to decrease my own workload during lessons and I want to optimise the reoccurring tasks of teaching.
  • I want to decrease my administrative workload by effective and efficient use of technology (student and performance monitoring, ...) .
  • I want to expand my own competencies by exploring new ways of teaching, using new tools and approaches.
