Drawing of chemical formula

To draw proper chemical formula is vital for science teachers and of course students of that classes as well.

In a short while I will put some basic manuals online. Those are meant for colleagues to support the first steps as well as for students to get going fast.

Users are divided in the Windows users and the Max followers of the gone Steve Jobs.
Anyhow, due to restricted budgets of schools worldwide the main question is - how much does it cost. Nothing - free download and usage for all teachers and students. So there is no reason anymore to show up with copied jpegs or chemical formula in shorthand.

That is what I am expecting of my students.... and of myself as well.

Drop of bitterness for both softwares - they are not able to picture lone electron pairs. Unless you draw them in later. This can be done easier with ChemSketch which has an included DRAW function.

For the Windows users - ChemSketch:

You just have to register, then download and usage is free. Come on, this is a good deal for just giving away your email address. They will send you regular update messages, that is all. Furthermore there are 3D optimisation and 3D viewer tools included. They are great for visualisation. More coming soon.

For the Mac disciples amongst us - Marvin:

The company Chemaxon offers some more chemical tools for free download as well.
