The full power of moodle - using the microsoft moodle plugin for microsoft office

For all moodle users amongst us...

What bugs me most working with moodle ist the following.

  • upload a worksheet (usually a word document as a worksheet, a powerpoint sliceshow, an excel spreadsheet using the moodle upload function
  • link it in my moodle course
  • After first use I find out that I need to change, add or delete some things.
  • Edit, upload, relink again....

Do you experience the same?

Here is the solution. Make use of the moodle plugin for Microsoft office (it will work on all Windows machines and on Macs with bootcamp and Windows partition).

I was not able to make it work using a Mac and Parallels though. Sad part - you will have to use a "true Windows" machine.

Here is the easier way: Store your office documents on your moodle server, open and edit them right there and save your changes like you were accessing a network drive!

This is how it goes.

Microsoft partner in learning website will give you this free Office Add-In for moodle:

Find also a short description on that page about what the Add-In will do for you,

Thees is a video clip with the walkthrough on that page.
